Ren is my first show dog and introduction to the world of Conformation. He is unfazed by the busy atmosphere of shows and has been in the ring since his very first show at nearly four months old, that being the Collie Club of Victoria Open Show where he won Best Baby Puppy in Show.
While Ren is not the easiest dog to show, as he is a bit too laid back and would probably prefer to be off doing something else, he can certainly show well when the pressure is on and we have had some very good results.
I showed Tonya as a Baby Puppy before she went to Qld to continue her show career. As a baby she won two Best Baby Puppy In Groups. Upon her return to Melbourne I soon returned to handling her, Janice having her hands full with her pups from her successful AI litter. She is tricky to show being quite the Goldilocks - not too much handling, not to little, just enough to bring out her personality and keep her relaxed, then you have a lovely little dog in the ring.
